Whispered conference interpretation is used when only one or two participants require the service.

The interpreter sits or stands close to these individuals and whispers the translation directly into their ear as the speaker delivers their presentation.

This technique allows for the message to be delivered immediately without interrupting the flow of the event for other attendees as is the case with consecutive interpretation.

Whispered interpretation is particularly effective in small settings, such as business meetings, workshops, or side discussions.

• Noise: Background noise can significantly affect the quality of whispered interpretation, as it may be difficult for both the interpreter and the listener to hear clearly.

• Distraction for others: The act of whispering can still be distracting for other attendees in the same room.

• Increased fatigue: Interpreters may tire much more quickly due to the constant strain of speaking softly and dealing with noise in the room without the benefit of soundproofing.
